Packa
The Billy Smoker Packa is an Australian-made stainless steel fire pit cooker built around a simple idea: pack its base and walls with sand, dirt, rubble or old bricks, and that mass holds heat and gives you a steady, consistent cooking temperature. Dual air controls let you regulate the burn, and the cooking surface is the longest in the range, with room for up to six BBQ skewers.
The elevated base keeps heat off non-combustible floors below. Stainless steel throughout.
Configure it with the optional cast iron grill plate (with integrated slides for temperature control and fuel loading) and a weather lid for storage between uses.

Use, maintenance and care
Before first use, pack the base and walls with your chosen fill, dry sand, soil, rubble or clean old bricks all work. This mass holds the heat, so the more evenly it’s packed, the steadier the cooking temperature.
After cooking, let the unit cool fully before handling. Clear ash from the fire area and wipe the stainless surfaces with a damp cloth, avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. The packed fill can stay in place between uses; if it gets wet, let it dry before lighting the next fire to avoid steam and spitting.
Use the lid to keep weather out when the Packa isn’t in use, and dry the stainless steel before covering to prevent water spotting. Hand wash the cast iron grill plate and skewers separately, and dry the grill plate fully to keep it in good condition.
