Exo
The Billy Smoker Exo is an Australian-made fire pit cooker in 5mm raw steel, with a tapered form that sits low and deliberate in an outdoor setting. It holds two BBQ skewers for grilling over the fire, and its elevated base keeps heat off non-combustible floors below.
The raw steel finish is left bare to develop a patina with use and weather; the surface changes over time rather than staying uniform. Out of fire season, the Exo works as a sculptural garden piece, holding or raising potted plants.

Use, maintenance and care
The Exo is made from raw steel and is meant to weather, a patina of warm rust tones will develop with use and exposure, and that’s part of the finish, not a fault. No painting or sealing is needed.
After cooking, let it cool fully, then tip out ash and wipe down with a dry cloth. If you’d rather slow the patina, keep it under cover and dry between uses, but bare steel left outdoors will continue to age regardless. Always set it on a non-combustible surface and use the elevated base as intended.
For skewer grilling, hand wash the skewers separately in warm soapy water.
